He spent a year attending the University of Wisconsin, Madison, but is currently pursuing a bachelor¡¦s degree in music performance on the bass guitar at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, MN. Tony's influences on the bass include John Paul Jones, Jack Bruce, the left hand of Ray Manzarek, Noel Redding, and his mentors and professors at McNally Smith: Terry Burns, Charles Fletcher, Jeff Bailey, Jay Young, and Gary Raynor. Tony owns the low end of Soul Tree and supplies tight rhythm, beautiful harmony, melody, and backing vocals. Tony and drummer Brad Zampich pride themselves on being locked-in, intricate, and powerful, forming a fantastic rhythm section that is both worth hearing and seeing.

Brady Lillie

Brady Lillie - Vocals, Guitar

Born near the river banks of the great Mississippi, Brady Lillie's stage presence is as strong as the mighty river of his youth. Harnessing his skills started at age 14 where he played his first shows under the lights of the legendary club, First Avenue, in Minneapolis. Playing in groups such as Rockford, The Vintage Mink and the Scott Morrisson Band, Lillie had played most of the Minneapolis club circuit, wrote, recorded and released a full length album, and toured from Minneapolis to Kansas before the age of 18. With Soul Tree, Lillie is front man, lead singer, and guitar player all in one. With a vocal range that hits the haunting lows of Johnny Cash's Dahlia, to the screeching highs of Robert Plant's Immigrant Song. With guitar playing that blends roots country with Hendrix's psychedelic playing, Lillie creates a sound of his own. With the powerhouse rhythm section of Brad Zampich and Tony Schulz behind him, they create a full dynamic sound with the use of only three professional musicians.

Brad Zampich

Brad Zampich - Drums

Originally from Alpena, Michigan, Brad Zampich has settled in nicely in the Midwest. Growing up in a small town, Brad picked up a pair of sticks before he was able to walk. Never really having any formal training, surprisingly enough he just picked up and did it, and it became very apparent early on that he was a natural musician. In Middle School Brad started playing the snare drum in Concert Band. Later on that year he put all the percussion parts together and played them on drum set. From there on Brad took every opportunity to play the drums that came along. In High School he was the Drum set player in Pep Band and Jazz Band, leader and founder of the percussion ensemble, and lead Snare Drum player in Marching Band. He received awards for Outstanding Musician as well as Outstanding Soloist in '04. After High School Brad decided to go to a Community College in his hometown. While there he played in the Jazz Band and took Gen Eds. After a year or so he decided to take his music education even further by attending McNally Smith College of Music. It was here that Brad got truly passionate about drums and found out what it took to become a great drummer. He has had personal instruction from the legendary Marv Dahlgren (Drum set and Vibes), Gordy Knudston (Steve Miller Band), Dave Stanoch, David Schmalenberger, Paul Steuber, Dave Hanzel, and Michael Pilhofer. After his training, Brad has become a drummer who takes great pride in his craft. He understands many aspects of drumming both rhythmic and melodic. It is that mind set that makes him such a perfect fit to the power trio Soul Tree.
